How to Know if You Have a Rodent Problem

Mice, rats and rodents are nocturnal creatures that sleep during the day and search for food at night. Rodents leave a number of tracks behind that can help you decide if they are traveling inside your home.

The majority of homeowners notice rodent infestations through a few key warning signs:

• Squeaking sounds and activity at night: To discover a rodent infestation, use your ears. When your home is quiet at night, listen for any rustling and movement from rodents. You might not spot a mouse or rat since they are great at hiding, but you might hear them squeak or drag food across the floor.
• Droppings, bite marks and grease marks: These pests do not cover their trails. Monitor your home for droppings or bite marks across pantries, kitchen cupboards and locations with food storage.
